An AP article in September profiled residents of the Florida Keys and Wayne County, Indiana, after census statistics revealed both communities as having among the highest divorce rates in America. If you are anything like us, you’ll read along, thinking “this is an interesting story – you always hear about half of marriages ending in divorce – interesting that only 10% of people have been divorced.”
Then it will hit you: the statistic tracks divorces for “people over 15.” Seriously – 15. And the average age for brides in Utah and Idaho is 23.5 years old, including second marriages (not to mention third & fourth).
